RAIL
Enjoy the comfort of sleeping compartments and dining cars on the Spirit of the Outback. The train leaves Brisbane on Tuesday and Friday evenings, travels along the eastern coastline to Rockhampton and then inland to Longreach arriving the following evening.

ROAD
Longreach is about 1200 kilometres from Brisbane and major highways are fully sealed, making driving a pleasure. From Brisbane take the Warrego Highway, from Rockhampton the Capricorn Highway, the Flinders Highway from Townsville or the Kidman Way from north western New South Wales.

COACH
McCafferty’s Express Coaches have a daily service from Brisbane and many other centres to towns in Queensland’s central west. Travel in air-conditioned coaches with on-board movies and meal breaks at towns along the way. Coaches leave Brisbane in the evening and arrive the next morning.

Macair flies to Longreach twice weekly from Townsville via Winton. The flight time is a little over two hours and passengers travel in one of Macair's comfortable and fast Fairchild Metro aircraft.
