Welcome to the Jumbuck Motel

Soak up the history and heritage that surrounds the legendary township of Longreach, home of the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame, Qantas Founders Outback Museum and a wealth of entertainment and warm, country hospitality!

Spend lazy afternoons on wide, open verandahs with the vast Mitchell Grass plains surrounding you.  Gaze at distant horizons, marvel at the beauty of blazing sunsets or let a carpet of twinkling stars engulf you on a clear and moonlit night.

Listen as the hills, plains and billabongs share their secrets - of famous Australian explorers, drovers' campsites and the shearers' way of life.  Climb the lookout where Captain Starlight hid his men and discover the many other characters that shaped the nation at the famous Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame.

Take a sunset river cruise on the Thomson, see farm animals and horses on a tour of the Longreach Pastoral College or simply enjoy the smells and tastes of an outdoor barbeque.

It all awaits you in Longreach - the heart of the outback.  Tour a working sheep station, sing songs round the campfire, listen to bush poetry and ultimately experience the many flavours of the outback.
